I am really getting excited about the 2009 shopping season! I have just loaded many new pendants on the website. You will just have to take a peak at them. I still have many more to upload so stay tuned.

Chinese Calligraphy Teacher Pendant

Oh my goodness---I am mailing out "Teacher" pendants as fast as I can! I am going to be painting some more this weekend. This pendant is definitely a favorite. It is so unique, can be worn long or short, dressy or casual--not to mention it is the perfect gift for under $20.00.

I have had so many nice comments from teachers who have received them as gifts. Not only is the pendant a reminder of the special child that gave it but it also gives her the chance to teach the children about China.

So---if you are thinking about the "Teacher" pendant please, please get your orders in ASAP. I am trying my best to keep up :-)
Thanks so much for your support.

Mother Day and Teacher's Gifts

Hello everyone! I do believe that I have just mailed out the last Mother's Day orders. Whew! Thanks so everyone for your orders and especially getting them on time. I hope all of the Mothers enjoy their new pendants.

I have already began shipping out the "Teacher" pendants for the end of the school year teacher gifts. If you haven't had a chance to look at it--here it is. This pendant is one of the very best sellers in the entire line. I think it is the perfect gift for under $20.oo. All of Olivia's teachers have really enjoyed theirs. They have commented on the fact that the pendant really gets their student's attention and gives them the opportunity to share with them about China, another culture and language and Chinese calligraphy.

Happy 2009

It is hard to believe that we are starting a new year. The end of 2008 was very busy and we are certainly looking forward to a great 2009.

Thanks to everyone for your support and spreading the word about our pendants. It was so nice to see so many of you ordering again this year!

Because of your support we were able to make some really nice donations with the profits of the 2008 shopping season:

A donation was made to Dianjiang Kids International to support their foster care program once again. It was fantastic to be able to work with the families of DKI on
another fundraising adventure.
We were also able to make a nice donation towards the support of a new Gracies's Room for the children of XianXiang Social Welfare Institute which is located in Henan Province.
Again, this year we were able to support the ongoing efforts of Fuling Kids International.
Once again, we have to thank all of you for helping us help so many! We could not do it without you!

Fall 2008

Hello Everyone! I am getting excited and busy with the 2008 shopping season already. Orders have been coming in steady for holiday shopping for about a month--especially for the "teacher" pendant!

I am excited to be working with Fuling Kids International again this year for the children at the Fuling SWI. As many of you know this is my daughter's first home so it has a very special place in my heart. One of the really great things that I am a part of is the new FKI Shopping page. If you haven't visited yet please take a minute to visit at http://www.fkishopping.blogspot.com/ I know you will enjoy all the uniuqe venders ---each will donate a portion of their profits to FKI!

Julie P Designs is also participating in a special promotion for the Dianjiang SWI this year. This is our second opportunity to support the Dianjiang Foster Care program --Yeah! This year in addition to raising funds for foster care, DKI is also also raising funds to help open a new Gracie's Room for the children in XianXiang SWI in HeNan Province . I am so excited to be a part of this effort!

You can also find Julie P Designs, along with other great merchants on the Children of the World Adoption and Relief Agency shopping page. You can visit at http://www.cotwshopping.blogspot.com/

June 2008

Greeting everyone! We are settling into our new summer schedule in the Parr home. Since we have been on our "summer schedule" I have been getting a lot of painting done! I am really surprised with all four children at home.

I am excited about the new items that I will be releasing soon:
-small square "Grace" pendant
-small square "Jie-Jie" pendant (Big Sister)
-small square "Mei-Mei" pendant (Little Sister)
-large teardrop "Son" pendant

Stay tuned and keep watching for the new items.

The promotion for Dianjiang Kids is still going. It is so nice to know that we will be able to write that check for the DK foster care program at the end of June. If you have not checked out the Dianjiang calligraphy pendant please check it out at http://www.juliepdesigns.com/catalog.php?item=48&catid=8&ret=catalog.php%3Fpage%3D1%26category%3D8 or take a peak on page 2 of the shopping section of Julie P Designs. The ongoing support of the foster care system is more important that ever now that there has been an increase in pay for the nannies in China--which is a good thing--and the dollar is not as strong. So everything is costing more now days!

Julie P Designs is now featured as part of the Children of the World Shopping page and the Fuling Kids International shopping page! Please take a peak at both of the pages. I know you will find something uniques for your holiday shopping. Also keep up as the holiday season gets closer because more merchants will be added.

Please continue to pray all those in China who have been so terribly affected by the recent earthquakes.

Summer 2008

I can hardly believe that school is out for the summer. The 2007-2008 school year has just flown by--probably because it was my son's senior year. This has been a bitter- sweet few months for me as I have watched Adam enjoy the last of his senior year. Adam is my first to be leaving home. He will be attending the University of Alabama--my alma mata--so we will be busy getting him ready for college this summer. My husband Jeff is really going to miss Adam as he will be left at home with 4 girls!

I have been so busy with Julie P Designs since my last post. The end of the school year kept me very busy painting the "Teacher" pendants. I have had so many emails from teachers commenting on what a unique gift they received and how much they liked the pendant. I am already busy painting more for Christmas shopping.

The project for foster care for Dianjiang SWI going well and will be running until the end of June. I am really looking forward to writing that check for foster care! Thank all of you for your support with this project.

Also for Mother's Day I was able to make a donation to Fuling Kids International for the foster care program at the SWI. I just could not think of a better way to celebrate Mother's Day than to sponsor a child.

My heart is just broken for the many, many people who have been so devastated in Sichuan province because of the recent earthquake. The loss of life is just overwhelming to me. This area of China is very special to me because this is where our Olivia is from. From all reports I have received, all is well in her first home in Fuling. Thanks be to God.

It is my goal for the rest of the year to be able to make a difference, no matter how big or small in the lives of those so terribly affected by the earthquake. Stay tuned--I will keep you up to date on the progress.

Please keep the people of China who have suffered so much in your prayers as they try to recover from the earthquake.

Blessings,
Julie
